About

Maura Allen founded Segesta in 1996 and has built the consulting practice on a foundation of delivering smart, strategic ideas to clients.

Organizations look to Segesta for creative programs that elevate their brands and engage their clients, donors and prospects. A core part of the team’s work focuses on creative problem-solving—What could we do differently? How can we deepen our reach? What will help us build trust? How can we stand apart?

Many of Segesta’s client relationships span over two decades of service, closely tied to the successful design and orchestration of programs that continue to deliver results. Global initiatives like JPMorgan’s Annual Summer Reading List (20+ years running), Toigo’s Groundbreakers Women In Leadership Summit (10 years) and its annual Gala (12+ years), Khosla Ventures CEO Summit (12 years) and more, each unique and engaging. A writer by training (she’s even written a book on the topic), Maura helps clients infuse their unique brand voice as part of every project.

Prior to Segesta, Maura served as public relations director for a global law firm with 1,000+ attorneys serving top venture, technology, health and consumer industries, and as a Vice President at a leading Silicon Valley PR agency. A Telly award winner, Maura holds a B.A. in Classical Studies/Latin from Stanford University.  She is the author of WRITE NOW! and contributing author to Race, Work, and Leadership: New Perspectives on the Black Experience published by Harvard Business Press.
